Free Medical Camp 2017

Introduction
We would like to submit a report of successfully organized Free Medical Camp 2017 Organized by Nepal Himalaya Sherpa Foundation in Nepal with the support of Sowa Rigpa Foundation Boppard in Germany. The free medical camp took place in two different village of remote mountain area of Nepal. The first place in Dhupi Surke from 6 & 7 November 2017 and second place Ripal village from 9 & 10 November 2017.
Location


The location is north eastern region of Nepal officially known as Ripal village-9 & Dhupi Surke Village-8 Khiji Demba Rural municipality, Okhaldhunga District, Lower Everest Region Nepal. These villages are the most remote village of the district where we cannot find any Clinic, Hospital or any primary heath post.
The peoples of this village have to walk 4-5 hours to get normal pain relief medicine, and have to walk long distance which may even take 2 days to get the Hospital and if not possible they must go to Kathmandu if critical health problem occurred.
How we got there

We started our journey from Kathmandu on 02nd November 2017 with jeep Kathmandu to Dhap about 230km (10 hours drive) and stayed overnight in the lodge. And next 3 days by walk/ Trekking through the mountain side /jungle /Rhododendron forest and so on. During the 3 days walk we carried all our camping gears such as Tent, sleeping mattress, Toilet Tent, Kitchen and Dining Tent, all the Kitchen equipment, and food and so on. We together had around group 20 person including all the kitchen staff/ Sherpa Guides /Porters and 10 Mules to carry our medicines, and necessary equipment and foods and so on.
Benefits
During the 4 days Medical camp in 2 villages around 350 local people from different neighboring village got the free health check up and treatment. We got the patients from 10 days old baby to 90 Years old. All the patients got free check up and free medicines. All the people who attained the Medical Camp got the free consultation for healthy life, diet and exercise in a day to day life.
